Yes I've had shops do that to my car(s) before.
Only time it has pissed me off bad is when I owned my 91 firebird... I took it in for brakes and tires.. I had to work so I just dropped it off, thinking yeah they won't screw with it. pffff was I wrong. So when I went back (same day) after work, I noticed a very long burn out line in front of their shop
So I walked into the shop with an odd look, and the shop guy is like "well your all set" and gives me the price. But before I paid I told him lets go outside and look at my car. So we did, I pointed out the burn out marks, and the fresh rubber on the side of my fenderwells. I even pointed out the tires had been spun out on, easy to tell. I demanded a discount because of that ****. Of course they gave me 50% off the original price.
