    Ok I have two 97 GTP's, One is black and one is green. (trust me easier to keep track of, lol) So black car wasn't running right, put green car computer in it along with other parts to de-mod it, still wasn't right, found hole in piston, sub frame from green car went into black car along with the green car computer again...

    turn key the first time with new setup, fuel pump primes, I get the normal key in on position stuff, check engine light checks, etc. but no start, cycle the key a few times and it fires right up, im like ok, maybe im developing a starter issue........I started and shut it off maybe 3-4 times until now when turning to the cranking position, you get the click from the passenger side dash area and power cut to the dash and what not but no engine cranking again had someone else try as i listened under hood, nothing. tested with multimeter at starter, full 12 volts at starter main feed line, nothing at small solenoid wire EVER, had someone hold key in cranking position as I wiggled wires and kept my meter at the solenoid wire, so there is NOT a short in the starter wiring or anything, checked and cleaned the battery terminals again.

    Cycled the key probably 100 times and nothing still. Tried leaving the battery disconnected for a while and still nothing. Im starting to think its a passlock issue. Unless its a ignition switch issue. Wondered what you all thought about this. It's weird that it didn't work like the very first time, then it worked for 3-4 times, then all the of the sudden it stopped working again...I have a remote starter I was thinking of putting on the car anyway, so maybe Ill start with the passlock bypass then go from there....

    I have done things like change out a igntion cylinder in a 2000 cavi in which you have the do the re-learn. so i am familiar with that, but I get no flashing security light or anything like that. and if i remember correct, even when you have a normal security issue like that, it will crank, just not fire. So Im kinda stumped on why no power to starter....

    Have you removed the steering column and check the wires going to the ignition switch?

    Did you do a continuity test to the starter to make sure there are no breaks internally?

    Have you tested the BCM/theft deterant yet?

    Is the DIC flashing 0?

    97's are finicky man. I'll try to help best I can.

    Well one think i noticed yesterday while messing with it, the interior lights will kind of flicker once and a while and make the door chime go off and do weird things like that just kinda here and there. There is no radio in it and I know that the BCM sometimes has to do with the radio and it needs one anyway, Im going to look over the wires by the ignition switch and BCM and throw my radio in it and if it still acts funny, the BCM from the green car is going in the black car, probably along with the passlock module, then i will try the passlock relarn procedure and go from there.....havent tested anything on the starter yet besides checking for voltage by probing the 'noid wire with my multimeter and grounding my meter .on a subframe bolt....I NEVER get juice comming through that wire....Im almost positive something is up with the BCM the way the interior lights are going wacky now....time to inspect wireing and trades BCM's i guess.....since there is pretty much an identical twin setting next to it with no motor or tranny, I should beable to make something work sooner or later lol

    The DIC isnt flashing anything that resembles 0 at all. I also get no security light.

    There is no starter relay on a 97.... More or less the start signal wire goes straight from the IGN switch to the starter solenoid, through the transmission range switch.

    Make sure its in park or neutral, and you will have no other variables to deal with.

    Well I know the tranny switch works fine because it was in my other car, and it is deff hooked up, I also held the key in the crank position and wiggled the shifter in park and neutral to make sure it wasnt just out of line or something.....

    Problem ended up being the actual ignition switch, traded the one from the green car into the black car and boom it worked.....of coarse I did that after trading the body control module and all the modules in that area lol but its whatever, its fixed and it didn't cost me anything....
