    Hi all,

I have an 03 GT, with dual zone air conditioning. It was blowing cool air on the right side, but warm on the left. Now its blowing warm air out of both sides. I started the car and noticed that even though the compressor was turning on the outside (belt pully), it wasn't on the inside. I checked all the fuses both in the glove box and under the hood, theyre all fine.

Im thinking my next step is refrigerant, freon (whatever you want to call it). I went out and bought a can of refrigerant with the guage on it, I can find the upper fitting on center of the firewall between the engnie and people comparetment, but I can't find the lower fitting that I attach the refrigerant hose to. Anybody have a pic or diagram?

If that dosen't work I guess the only thing it can be is the compressor.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks, David

Sounds to me like you have a leak somewhere. When these systems get low they will blow warm on drivers side and cold on the other as you have described. Normally you can spot the area of leakage because it leaves an oily residue at the leak. Check to see if the compressor is covered in ac oil, also check the lines and all connections. If you decide to just add more refrigerent it will likely just leak out rather quickly without fixing the leak.

P.S. The high side service port is by the air filter housing if yours is like my 1999 gp. If you are using a single line to charge you always charge through the low side which is the one by the firewall. You only use the high side for reading pressure, not charging.

You can't hook up the can on the high side they are different sizes. Put a can of uv dye in it too while your at it. The compressor won't run if it doesn't have R134-a in it.

Thanks for the help, Once I put in the coolant the compressor started working, and the A/C started working. Its a temp fix as I did hear a leak when I turned the car off.

I"m willing to bet its a blend door issue aswell. Normally the doors get stuck and stop working and stop the COOL air from coming into car.

check the vacuum line by the passenger side strut tower going down the side of the firewall, it may have broken.

Im going to get a can of UV dye tomorrow. I put two cans of coolant and it only went up to 35 psi. I have to drive it tomorrow for a few hours and didn't want to be too hot. The leak I hear is coming from somewhere under the brake fluid resivoir. And I see the oily residue you mentioned. it's going to be a ***** to get to.
