In December 2010 I was driving my Stealth. I was in the left lane and a gas well truck in the right lane had a piece of unsecured equipment slide off the truck right into my lane where I ran over the top of it. It basically acted as a boat anchor. I had to rev the hell out of my car to even get it off the road. Got off the road and saw my front bumper cover busted up and oil pouring everywhere. Got the guys insurance info, got the car towed, and went to get a rental the next day. Rental was only a craptastic Cobalt, but it got me thinking that I really needed a new car.

Stealth got fixed enough to be drivable, I got a check for $900 for the other damages. First week of Februrary I got my tax return which gave me about $3000 in savings so I started looking around. In my searches I kept seeing Grand Prixs. I wanted to find something in the $3000 range so I didn't have to worry about financing, but anything in that range seemed to be garbage.

End of February I blew the trans in the Stealth. I could have had it drivable in a weekend but decided that was the sign I needed to get a new car. Talked to the company president since he owns a lot of property and has a dealer license. He put me in contact with a local dealer.

Got there and there sat an 07 black/black GT. Talked to the guy, told him who I was, he threw me the keys and said take it for a spin. Hit the highway and floored it. I was shocked at how fast it was, because I did not know at the time that the 07 GT's were indeed supercharged. When I got back to the dealer lot I popped the hood and saw the supercharger sitting there. I knew it was the car I wanted.

After a little wheeling and dealing even though the car was already marked down $800, he took another $500 off because I came so highly recommended. After a day or so of financial swingling I picked the car up and drove it home for a whopping $175 a month.
