Thread: what made you decide to get a GP?

It was cheap..and somewhat quick.

4 years ago when I was 21. I wanted a 1st new car in my own name. So Ive been seeing grand prixs around town and I liked the style and design of them so about 6 months later i bought a 02 GP GT with 65K and I still have the GP with about 115K. I still get complaints on how great it looks. Plan on keeping it forever

I still don't have a GP... here's a list of what made me not get a GP

Dual heated seats from 97+ maybe earlier
Actual boost gauge, not some light up block toy
Comfortable seats
Folding rear seat in 2K
Lower insurance premium
Less police noticing it
Better insurance rates

it burned gas to propel me from point a to point b, it did these on 4 wheels, it has had brakes so i could stop, needless to say i was impressed.

Both of my aunt's had GTs. She got hers in early 00s. So I was in love since that point. Then dad was like Heyyyy I found a 99GT I was like okay! So after fixing it 2-3 times and getting it solid I was like hmm, boost must be nice.

So i traded it and got the GTP and I'm madly in love still. Plan to keep it for a while.

Bought a 95' Camry back in July/August of 09' right around when I got my license and graduated from High School. Had the car a whole year, then decided I need something better looking and faster. At first, I started looking at 04+ Grand Prixs before deciding that I probably won't be able to get one for 4K with decent miles. After some convincing, I decided the 97-03 looked good enough and were fast enough, and while I could have gotten an 04+, I am an impatient sonofagun and ended up buying a 00' GTP in February.

Had 2 w-body cars before, figured i'd get a 3rd.

my first GP (02 white 4 door GTP) came about mostly because my friend has a regal GS w/ a bolt-on 3.4 setup... and our other friend has a 99 GTP bronzemist coupe, w/ just intake, DP, and a catback exhaust...... so... when the trans on my old 99 mecury cougar decided to take a $h!t, i went shopping for a GTP of my own. I loved that car, and i was pretty pissed when i had to sell it before i moved to Germany for a few years..... so naturally after Afghanistan, i decided to use all that sweet combat pay to replace that hole in my heart, and that is when i got my current GXP. holla.

Sold my 2000 grand Cherokee because I was tired of 11 mpg and it breaking everyday.

The next day I found my green gp on craigslist, fully loaded, 1 owner, 89k. Test drove it and bought it about an hour later for 3700

I totaled my first car ( 00 olds alero) and went looking for another. Started looking for sporty cars. Mostly mustangs, but mustangs are for little girls, so I was nawww trick nawww. Then I saw an ad on cl for this sexy black SUPERCHARGED car, I was all like omgracecar. So I bought it. That one didn't like being modded, sold it, bought the current because it's missing two doors. It's a love hate relationship at times. But I love it

well when my grandfather passed away he left his clean 95 se coupe with only 70k on it for me...ive had it for a year and a half now and i love it. even though it is only an se...i have other toys to tinker with

Hit a deer in the '97 doing about 85ish. Got a deal on an '04 Intrepid... drove it for a few months, sold it and made a few k. Sat in an '05 Black GP and creamed my pants just sitting in it.

because it can rape a cobra....lol it was my dads car and i was always in love with the body style and even stock performance throughout middle and high school. he passed away in 09 and passed it on to me and since he had credit life on it, i got it without having to pay off the 4k left on it

My wife liked them. She had one repoed in her stupid blond days wanted another I talked **** about them. Ended up eatin my words and have been stuck on wbody ever since.

I'd been looking for a L67 car for a while and happened across this one and picked it up the next day. Overpaid but i like it.

I was just walking along the sidewalk when I was like 15 and a neighbor with a 97-03 gt drove by. I thought the exhaust sounded really awesome and so I looked up vids of GPs and found out about gtps lol. So then I tried for about a year to get one and we found mine at an auction
