Ok guys. Heres the question. How do I get a great TUNED exhaust sound? I DO NOT want a loud cackling v-6 when I let off the Fun pedal. I've been searching through videos and such and have found nothing. Help me out here. I plan on getting the system on a budget, so piece by piece. I know Corsa has a really nice system out, but I have yet to find a good video with great quality sound to it.

The best 3800 exhaust system is stock mufflers with a glasspack in place of the resonator.

FWIW Thrush mufflers drone a lot and crackle bad when you let off the gas.

@matt. Problem is....there arent really any GP GT's around me that have anything done to them, unless you include the riced out ones with straight pipes....lol

The reason behind me wanting to do this is that my exhaust is starting to rust through, and the amount of salt/sand they use in the winter here is ridiculous. So I'm starting to look now.

Im from Lawrenceburg, IN. There's about 2 or 3 guys that go to the local drag strip but we are all stock. Kinda sucks. And those are the 2 I'm leaning towards, just want to hear them live.

If salt and sand are an issue, and its your daily, I wouldn't pay for a nice exhaust system.

    Why?

Mild steel will rot out quickly.

My car is an 02 with 80 something thousand miles on it.

Its on at least its third exhaust system.

SSAC headers Turbo Kits, Turbo Manifolds, Import Performance Products, SSAutochrome Inc., If your wanting a bolt on system i'd do borla but any exhaust shop can hook you up with a decent system. Just put a 30" glasspack here the Res should be or reuse your resonator.
1999 GTPHP Tuned, Ported SC/TB, 42#'s, SSAC's, ZZP Modded 1.9's/LS6 Springs/Manley's, TransGo Shift Kit, Poly Uppers, KYB GR2's/Springtech's. - 231k and traded it in. - Gone
    2000 GTP: XP, P&P'd Heads, N*\Lq4 MAF, GenV, 42#'s, PRJ Rails\FPR, Racetronix, TEP w/ 3.29 Gears, 300m, 7/8" chain, SSAC's. - Collecting dust in my garage.

SSAC Stainless Headers + Borla T304 Catback = Over a grand when your all said and done.

I'd have 3 mild steel catbacks built before shelling out coin for a stainless catback...but I'm just a bum and don't give two sh1ts about spending THAT much money on a Grand Prix.

    Carry on
