I was talking to a guy who said he has a 97 gtp with a 2.5 pulley on it. Didnt really give me a big list of supporting mods. Just sounds like that would be to small.

Probably for his car...its a ticking time bomb then...I'm running a 3.1" on plenty of timing...if I went back down to stock 16* I might get away with a 2.8". All I'd need is some E85 for a 2.5" or lower.

    Korey pulled 18 psi right?

10-13 psi seems to be the most you'd ever want to see.

    M90 prefers 7-8 PSI.

Well I was talking to him about a job offer and he also offered me this car. SAYS its pushing around 400 hp, but after I heard 2.5 pulley I lost interest and didnt listen to the rest. If he ends up calling me Ill ask about supporting mods and see if this is something worth looking into.

If he gives it to you...sure...take it.

Korey's car...had something wrong with it.

No G3/G5 M90 makes 18psi unless there are HUGE flow issues.

I make 11-12psi at the shift.

    Oh, don't buy that car.

Doubt the transmission is in good shape.

When I had the 1.84rr, SLP headers, stock L32 heads, and L26 bottom, I was getting 16 psi on a 3.25 pulley. I think my M90 is a Magnusson though, it has a keyway with a single bolt on the end to hold on the pulley. It's shaped like a Gen III, but the rotor coating is perfect. It would really scream. Can't say it was safe, think previous owner was also using Meth, but didn't tell me about it. But that's the PSI I was getting from the 3.25. The extra compression is the only restriction I could think of.

And it wasn't knocking on high compression? With just rockers and headers...even with Methanol...wow.

    And 16psi...yeah, that's nutzo

Aren't Whipples capable of stupid high PSI numbers without issue?

    Because of the rotor design...

    BUT.

Whipple's produce tons of heat...and to run one on a 3800 you need to have flow and cooling mods out the ass.

Like I said, can't say it was completely safe, lol. At the time I didn't have a scanner to read KR or a tuner. It did run good, I messed with a Mercedes SL55 once. Could keep with him multiple times up to 135 or more, but couldn't pass him. Don't think I want to go that fast again. When I'm done my build, I'll have to see about KR cause I plan on using that M90 before building the M112. I'll have a few more flow mods than then so should see lower PSI. Still torn on NA or SC piston. Have to take some measurements of the rods and pistons when I get a chance.
