Ok so I really want to have a fast modded gtp already my gtx is bonestock I want to make it go Fast but it just takes alot of time and I need my car on a daily basis and I couldnt afford to have it sitting around alot while I did modifications to it my question is this car that i found a ripoff or good deal?

    Pontiac Grand Prix GTP

If I were to buy it then sell my gtx would I be making a mistake i know if you put alot of money into your car you would like to take care of it or with this many mods do you think the car is beat to hell? I mean it does have a 177k miles but these things run forever yet what do you guys think of it being on it's original tranny will it go out soon?

not necessarily a rip off, but there is also not that much done to that car. you can much more easily make the same amount of power without all the hassle of buying/selling a car.

it is probably legit. it is an intercooled rocker car so it has some good ability to run some smaller pulleys.

I didn't know frozen boost was making intercoolers for GTP's.

300hp to the wheels with rockers is somewhat believable with tune/pulley.

With that said I wouldn't offer him anything over $4500 considering the mileage.

Transmissions are diff. 97's have a diff form of TCS I guess. Not a whole lot.

i wouldn't offer anything over book value, its 97 with lots of miles, people need to learn if you mod it, your not getting any of the money that you put into it back on a resale. at least not from me

if you mod it, you did because you wanted it that way, and buying someone else's modded car could be a time bomb waiting to go off, i'd pass, but that's me.

always buy a stock car and work it up yourself!

so build you own car when you can.

03's have the strongest trannys. I don't think the other trannys are any stronger than the 97s its just that the 97s are 97 only. Sunroof looks factory as does the headliner.

i'd offer him $3,000 now and give him your number. Give it two weeks or a month and if he REALLY needs the dough he'll be willing to play ball.

I estimate he will knock off 2g's off his asking if he REALLY needs it.

ABS is a different style- So if you decide to switch to turbo later you will have purchase a modified dp, remove the ABS, or change to a different year.

    -No TCS
    -DIC is a different style
-Sunroof inside cover is a different style
    -Wiring harness is different.
    -PCM is much larger
    -TB is different
-S/C case has a vacuum tree on it
    -Alt. Bracket is different

    All I can think of off the top of my head. I've owned a 2000 GTP(factory stock), 1998 GTP(IC & N20), and currently a 97 GTP(turbo).

Pass on the car unless you REALLY want it.

A car is only worth what someone will pay. Have you found someone that will drop $3800 on it right now as it sits?

Just like this guy thinks his car is worth $5,000, but you wouldn't pay that much cause you don't feel it's worth it.

Id pass and keep the GTX. Yea it may be modded but he probably beat the ba!!z off it. Plus atleast you can say you have a GTX and you know what condition your car is in. You can get your car rather fast with just having it down on a Saturday or Sunday here or there. Keep YOUR car man

Please explain how the 03's have the strongest tranny? Because you sound like you are spouting off **** you don't know anything about.

And to the OP. The sunroof was a factory option. It was added on mine.
