My climate control exterior temperature wanders all around. Starts at freezing and usually goes to like 100 degrees and it's winter. So the car senses that its hot out and shuts off the heat. Is the sensor screwed up? Can I just clean it? Any help/opinions would be great.

It's called the ambient air temperature sensor and is located in about the middle of the vehicle, well in front of the radiator. there's nothing to clean. $10 should get you a new sensor and fix your problem.
