My nieces 2004 grand prix has a single red wire with a connector that is attached to the positive battery cable that is just hanging there going nowhere. Her boyfriend took the battery out of the car a little while ago and I want to know if he might have disconnected that connection to something important.
The wire is about a 12-14 gauge wire.

    Any ideas?

On the top of the fusebox there should be a stud with a nut. Battery wire should be connected there to supply the fusebox.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Usually (97-03) which I'm more common with.. the battery cable has the main lead to the starter and then a seperate to the fuseblock.

Got to look at the car this weekend and I was mistaken.
The wire isn't connected to the positive battery cable.
There is a group of wires going the the RIGHT SIDE of the fuse box in the engine compartment and this single red wire with the connector is separated from the other wires but in the same wire loop of wires.
    Any ideas??
