To those of you that have replaced your inner tire rod ends with the rack still on the car. How did you "stake" the end of the tie rod? The Gm Service Manual says the ends need "staked" which is just hit and bent down to keep the tie rod from backing off the threads. However, it also gives detail with the rack out of the car. I want to do this without removing the rack.

    Thanks in advance.

Hmmm, I never 'staked' mine. I just pulled off the outer tie rod, use my inner tie rod tool and screwed the inners off.

Cool, thanks guys. Going to be hard at it tomorrow, I've got a laundry list of front end stuff to do.
