i got this car knowing there were little issues with it, its a 97 gtp 14yrs old yeah little issues thats ok. i posted 2 different threads on some of the issues this it my third. i just replaced the driver side window regulator and motor beacuse the come together as one, the window still come only about 3/4 of the way up then it stops and sometimes it may attemp to go back down or up, or it wont. so i have to wait like 30secs then tap it up or down again and i have to repeat the process till i can get it all the way up. now from the all the way up position it comes down just fine or if i just want to crack the window i does no problems at all and if i only drop it a few inches it will come back up just fine its the 3/4 of the way up is where its catching some where and the regulator motor all that is brand new so thats not the issue and i lubed up the slide area real good. heres another catch, when i got it all put back in and pluged the switch back in, that was the issues i was having but after i said my share of bad language and wished a 747 plane would land on the car i put my panel back on back the car out the garage then tryed it again and the window went up and down fine almost going up it was a little slow but s it lifting a big a$$ window up( the car was started at this time) so could this be my battery needs to be checked, theres a bad sensor, bad relay, when i got the car the guy said the body control module (bcm) had to be replaced beacuse the a/c goes on the d.i.c. cuts out and there is no courtesy lights and when i turn the a/c on any setting even thou only setting 5 works i hear like a snap or quiet pop from the bcm by my left foot. im asking and my car is asking for help any ideas what is going on.

First and foremost, please, please PLEASE format your questions better the next time you post. Trying to read a paragraph that goes on and on with no uppercase letters, no punctuation, and no subject breaks is really difficult. If you keep posting like this, you won't get any responses.

You need to check to see if the switch in the door that you press is good. Sometimes as they age, they accumulate carbon inside them and will not allow a good electrical connection, therefore you get a very stubborn window to put up or put down. Mine went bad on me and going down was no problem, it was going up that was the issue.

The rest of your paragraph really didn't make much sense to me, so please try to separate it a little and post a reply in this thread, don't make another. Thanks

x2 on the window switch, when i got my 99 gtp the passenger window wouldnt go up with the driver switch but would go down just fine. good thing is that i kept tapping it in the up position and it finally started working. @ the same i had a big ball of smoke come rolling out of the switch panel and its been working just fine sence then.

When your window stops partway up, the motor is stalling out against whatever is binding the window regulator/track/glide mechanism. The motor gets hot and trips the thermal overload protection. Once it cools down and resets, the motor will work again.

You'll need to determine what is creating the binding condition. Someone might have been in there before you and bent or adjusted a glass guide improperly; that could create enough drag to do what your describing. There might also be old collision damage that was not properly repaired.
