Is there a good ignition wire in the engine bay to feed something like an intercooler pump or auxilary cooling fan without requiring a relay? Ive typically powered anything with an ignition on source that activates a relay connected to the battery.

you can use one of these add a fuse set ups, LITTELFUSE FHA200BP ATO Add - A - Circuit Kit
and wire up your relay and switch. i would always use a switch and hook it up so it only works when the keys in the on position, that way you still have control over it while the cars running. vs's having it just coming on when you start the car and off when you turn the car off.
i hooked up my trucks electric fans set up this way. i took main power to the relay off the battery, it had one of them pig tails off the power cable.
easy way to do this whole set up is to just buy a kit say for hooking up fog lights, comes with the wiring, relay and a switch, and a handy dandy schematic to follow. mine cost about 15 0r 20 bucks.
