I forgot you asked about tapping the phenolic. Here are the results, looks really good.
1/4" npt drilled and tapped into 1" phenolic.
You will have to drill a pretty deep hole through the side.

Thanks for the pics. I'll definitely be hitting you up in the next few months for a intercooler and spacer.
I'd like to give it a shot...I like being non-conformist and trying new things. If I succeed you might have a lot more business coming your wayIf I fail, I wasted a few hundred dollars and not much more.
I did it on my 3/4 inch spacer with no problems. It works great!
Howdy All:
Just my two cents worth. Phenolic is a free machining material but very abrasive. Just make sure you use a sharp (new) tap to cut clean threads.
