Ok so i just got a SES light finaly so i could get it scanned and figure out whats wrong. Went to Auto Zone for a code scan and my "Throttle Position Sensor" craped out. I can still drive the car fine but i have NO power. So my question is..... #1 is it safe for the engine to be drivin to college and work with out hurting it? #2 Is it something i can do my self? And i need links to the best brand TPS so i wont have it crap out again for a long time

Did they tell you what number code you have? I seem to be having TPS issues as well, and my code was PO121.

Just about any new TPS you pick up from a parts store will be good. They're real easy to replace, too. It just takes a T-20 security Torx and about five minutes of your time. Auto Zone has a lot of lifetime warranty electrical components, now, so you might check them out.

Replaced it today. Why the hell did GM put little metal bumps in the head of the hex screw!?!? It was a pita at first, then I realized that taking the TB was easier(I don't have torx bits, just the screwdrivers) and took a small punch and a hammer to the metal centers. Then I took it off with the torx screwdriver. At least now the car is running great again. I was getting worried, I thought the trans was screwed up.

Wtf the code came back on yesterday. I replaced the sensor, checked the connection, both seem to be good. Do I check the sensor and connection with a volt/ohm meter? If so, what are the readings I should have?
