First post, bare with me. Have a 1999 gt 3.8 and just changed the fuel pump and alternator after they both failed in hospital parking lot (another story for another day), now I have a code for the MAF 0102 and when I rev the engine it hunts for an idle speed, the tach bounces between 600 and 1200 rpm before finally idling at 800. Also it seems a little hard to start, have to turn it over several times before it will fire and run. The car runs great, better than it has in along time. Any suggestions welcome, Thanks.

I have a couple suggestions for you. First stay out of hospital parking lots. Secondly your MAF sensor is probably broken. If you disconnect it, and it idles better that would indicate the MAF is bad. You might want to try cleaning it first, it could be dirty.

check the wires leading to the plug for the maf, they tend to dry up, look for cracks in the insulation on the wires, i had to install a new pig tail for my maf last year.

After looking for vacuum leaks and cleaning the IAC and replacing the MAF sensor (140.00) it turned out to be a 10 cent fuse. It was fuse #21 IGN1UH.
Thank you all for your suggestions.
