hey guys i recently installed hartland sharp 1.9 ratios rockers and 90# gm valve springs and i took my car out yesterday and it didnt seem any better it actually seemed a tad slower from 60 mph on idk maybe it is just me but i did have me tunning guy adjust for the rockers before i did them and he said he moved my shift points around a little bit. I dont know maybe i was expecting to much out of the rockers or i would feel a super big difference. I was wondering what your guys input was or maybe if you thought some things that might of made it feel slower. What should be a diffence when you put rockers in? is there a big difference? please let me know also guys i already have the rest of the goodies on the car such as headers msd wires cooler plugs intercooler 3.25 pulley cold air intake

    Thanks Dan

    Dan,

    Take these steps.

    1) Remove Rockers
    2) Sell Rockers
    3) Install Cam of your choice
    4) Drop Pulley sizes by at least .2"...get a GOOD TUNE
    5) Reap benefits from real modding.

I had 1.84 Roller Rockers and a 3.5"...then I went with an XP Cam and a 3.25"...car went from barely chugging into the 13's at 98-99 mph...to running low 13's at 104+.

yeah i might do that if i wanted to run slower! Hell i ran a 13.2 last year with just and intercooler and 3.4 pulley. I was asking what might have changed when i put the rockers in not for you to be a dick about it

    I wasn't being a dick I was being serious.

    Rockers are lame.

Also...maybe the guy who tuned your car can't tune?

You should feel and notice rockers. You should also see a decrease in boost pressure from pre rocker to post rocker. Because they will move much more air through the cylinders.

Don't get it wrong though, rockers are a bandaid for cam envy. My last car was cammed, this one I fell on a set of rockers so they went in. Only way to notice it is to run against a stocker.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

you can break into the 12's with rockers, exhaust, and a full stack.

You don't MAN...I was just giving the guy an example. Your not running low 13's on rockers unless you throw slicks or an intercooler into the mix.

So why are u telling him to remove his rockers? When u KNOW it's not necessary. Also slicks? What the hell are u talking about? We're talking low 13's, not low 12's. You don't need no damn slicks. Somebody back me up here...because it's obvious this dude doesn't know what he's talking about.

i got your back and it doesnt take an intercooler or slicks to run low mid 13's i ran a 13 2 with a 3.4 pulley and just minor bolt ons no slicks no intercooler and i wasnt trying to be a wise guy when i asked my intial question i was just asking for a answer and in return a get you being a dick about people modify there cars that fit their budgets at that time i just happen to come across a good deal on rockers and decided to give them a try. People like you are the reasons people stay away from forums if you wana to be a prick go find somebody in your neighborhood to do it to not someone asking for help or if anyone else had the same problem thanks

Now on another note how much boost should i be seeing if im running a 3.25 pulley?? just so i can make sure i dont have belt slip or anyhting else goofy going on
