If this is not the right forum for this question, please move to proper one.
Yesterday, while replacing my front brake rotors and pads, I noticed that the driver's side half shaft boot closest to the tranny was slinging out green grease onto my lower frame. Not a lot, but enough to scrape off. I looked it over as best as I could but couldn't really see a split or hole. My question is: should I go to the trouble of pulling the axle, and replace the joint boot? Or, should I just buy a new/remanuf. half shaft and put that in?
If another half shaft, whose do you recommend? I see that AZ has them, as does NAPA (both new and remanuf). Or, should I get a used one from Ed Morad? So far, I do not have any noises or indications of CV joint failure but I want to take care of this before that happens.

Thanks for any advice you can give me.

just buy a remaned one you get new bearings and joints full a grease so it just better and there about the same price anywhere you go and plus theres a core charge to to you can get alittle back, but i got mine from orileys and they price match so its a win win

I would replace the half shaft. Not only do you get a core but a warranty as well.

the new halfshaft is usually $20 more at most, and there is no core to hassle with.
