Hi I just bought the electric water pump and do I need a different belt and tensioner to make it work?

What year is your gtp? Here's a breakdown of what part numbers of belts you'll need depending on year. All model numbers start with K060....

875 - Series II 99+ accessory belt with Meziere electric water pump
864 - Series III accessory belt with Meziere electric water pump
895 - 97/98 with Meziere electric water pump

You can go to a parts place like Autozone or Oreilly's. Most belts have the same part number. The first part (060) tells you it's a 6 rib belt, the last part (895) is the individual model number for the belt. Bigger number the longer it is. If you walk into a parts place just tell em you need a 060895 serpentine belt and they'll get you what you need.

    Bumping an old thread.

Why is there a difference between the Series II and Series III belts?

I installed my EWP with the Series II 875 belt and it seems loose.

    EDIT-

Looks like some people are running a larger 3.5" idler pulley on the accessory belt.

Anyone else on here had/have this same problem?

I don't know why that chart doesn't say to use a belt a 1/2" shorter if that is correct?
