First off, I may soon be obtaining a 01 gtp for the wife for a dd. Turbocharging has definitely crossed my mind since I have a GN that I can swap some of those parts to. Are the piping kits expensive?

at what power level will the trans crap out?

I've read somewhere that even a stock gtp has knock. Are there any programs out there that can be downloaded to give sensor information and tuning ability to add/pull fuel and timing.

Will alcohol injection make any improvements for a stock gtp? I just ask since I have a homemade kit that came off my GN.

    well hello there.

if its a DD, then leave it stock.

if you went to a turbocharge it, you gunna **** it all up. Its gunna cost countless dollars with tuning and the whole turbo kit and the trans will soon blow up and then BAM your out $4,000.

Yes ALL cars have knock retard. That is 1000000% normal. Yes you can buy a programer called HP tuners or a DHP tuner to help tune the car and add fuel and yadda yadda yadda. But you gott be smart and have a the time it takes to learn how to do the tunes and how to make it work.

Its not worth the headache to turbo this DD car.

so basically what you guys are saying if I take it much farther than stock I'm gonna start breaking stuff. Well that sucks I'll just start with the basic mods and throw on my alky injection. Are there any FREE programs I can download to at least look at 02 mvs and KR?

Is it worth the 75 bucks to hotwire the fuel pump? I know these motors have tons of potential. Sucks the rest of the car can't hold up to it

    These cars will handle alot.

I was being a dick in my last post because you cant just drop parts on it and make it work.

And no there are not any free programs to view o2, kr, timing adv, fuel, lifts, stft and stuff.

You would need a scanner of sometime. or a aeroforce scan gauge like this, http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/a.../Photo0332.jpg

Let me grab this thread for you to read.

Here read this. It will inform you of the best way to mod the car and do it safe and tell you how much the car will handle untill major parts need replacement.

The post that was linked in the previous reply falls extremely short of a "be all end all" of the modding world.

In order to mod, you need some way to scan your car for KR...bottom line. You don't know what your specific car can handle until you can start scanning for problems.

And these transaxles are maxed out from the factory, so yes, any extra HP or torque will strain them.
