Is this Fuel Filter for real? (So Stuck)

Honestly its the most straight forward thing to do. It will not budge tho(98 GS). Ive been spraying it for 4 WEEKS with PB blaster yes its rusted. I need options. Yes I have read all the threads on this I really dont want to pay a shop $40-$80 to do this but the track Im on Im going to snap the fuel line. The whole put some muscle into it has already been tried too.
I had one shop tell me to use a torch........ Seems to be counter productive there with that option.

Do what I did on my Aurora: Say it screw it, go to the parts store and buy some replacement fuel line, a compression fitting, and flare/bend/cut tools and break the line off, then cut somewhere upstream to it.

Mine was more of an emergency repair after I snapped the line at the filter, but it worked great for 2 years.

What's rusted. The threaded end or the push on end? If the threaded end is rusted, hold the line/fitting and turn the filter.

Tis right here worked for me! Vice grip on the nut on the end, twist the filter by hand. Also, disconnect the clip end first, mine was getting hung up on that.

I so wish this worked for me too. I tried that. I even took it to a shop today and they couldnt get it off. So 4 weeks of spraying it with PB and trying the 2 wrench way, then I tried spinning it by hand, then had a shop try and nothing worked. Im looking at the repair kit mentioned ^^. The first 20' from the filter could use some repair anyway from lovely Illinois rust. Im still open to ideas tho. Ill still give it another shot tho.

Is flaring the end of the lines 100% needed? Shouldnt the fuel line repair kit do just fine. I mean the compression fittings should do the trick.

No. If you just buy a section of replacement fuel line that is already flared at the end, you can just cut the line to desired length and use a compression fitting for the unflared side, then put an o-ring on the flared side and bolt on to the fuel filter there.

This is my quick-fix job on my old Aurora....Was changing the filter a few hours before a 3 day vacation and snapped the line.

No problem, I know how daunting it is.......I think I had a mild stroke when my situation happened....that line snapped and i said F*** there's goes my vacation. lol.

Im just going to use a mini pipe cutter I picked up today. Did you pop the line out of the clamp with all the other lines without an issue. I heard that theres a slight chance it can mess with the other lines. I just got a 40" piece came with th o-ring and flared end all the good stuff. It actually looks like a easy fix and will help with some of the crappy rusted fuel line in the process.

I actually didn't have to pop it out, i used the cutter tool and cut the line right where it straightens out as it runs under the chassis, that way i avoided the clip all together and didn't have to worry about the compression fitting rubbing against the underbody.

See I would go that route but my hard line right ther is sooo rusty by the filter that its about 20" back till theres a decent spot not all that rusty to tap into. Today I did my s/c coupler, open cone on the GS and an oil change on the GP so Im tapped out for today. Plus Lowes didnt have the mini cutter in stock since that was going to be todays project. I have a thing for Kobalt tools not clue why.
