I actually didn't have to pop it out, i used the cutter tool and cut the line right where it straightens out as it runs under the chassis, that way i avoided the clip all together and didn't have to worry about the compression fitting rubbing against the underbody.
See I would go that route but my hard line right ther is sooo rusty by the filter that its about 20" back till theres a decent spot not all that rusty to tap into. Today I did my s/c coupler, open cone on the GS and an oil change on the GP so Im tapped out for today. Plus Lowes didnt have the mini cutter in stock since that was going to be todays project. I have a thing for Kobalt tools not clue why.
