    you mean gen six?

If you seriously meant gen four then you're awesome for getting into a G body.

Note rocker rot is a terrible issue with those cars.

no gen 4. theres the early generation 60's and up, then theres the g body, then the underpowered 90's, then the w body

If it's a GTP, the '97 models don't have vacuum transmissions. They have the 4T65-E HD.

But, I'll still vote for anything '98 or newer. Fewer electrical problems and a better PCM. (I'm making myself sad mine is a '97...)

Ideally, especially if you are going to be doing some major mods, '98-'00. '01 and newer seemed to be picky with certain things.

the 97-03 is second generation W body, six gen grand prix.

the 04+ is third gen W body and seven gen grand prix.

    coupe ended in 2002.

Wait for a response instead of making a new thread every time your question changes.

There is no best year GTP. They are all GP's and therefore suck smell butt crack.

    Regal FTW.

    uhh care to explain why?..

97 gtps had the same trans as the 98-02, the s/c just has different vacuum routings if I'm not mistaken.

03's come only in sedans, but come with a hardened 4th gear in the transmission.

I'd say 01-03. I haven't really had problems with mine mod wise (considering you're modding yours)

Um hes not being rude, its just common forum etiquette to not make multiple threads asking the same question you jackwagon. And bio is the tits bro. Hes only a dick to stupid people.

And the 97 GT's were the only ones with the 4T60-e the SE's had the 4T65-E and the GTP's had the 4T65-E HD. So only the GT's have a vacuum transmission, trust me I have a 97 GTP and its rocking the 4T65-E HD not a 4T60-E.
