I am pretty new to this stuff so be kind. I have a 2003 pontiac grand prix and I am having trouble with my Cooling system. My fans are not turning on and while I am in idle the temperature gauge keeps rising. How do I go about fixing the problem? I think possibly that my thermostat is sticking too, but not sure. Can any one help. Also just FYI my mechanic put a new engine in last year and instead of putting the dexcool in he put in the green stuff. he said it doesnt matter and in fact the dexcool actually tends to do more damage. could this have effected my thermostat and fans?

So I got my fan assembly replaced because my fan motors showed high resistance and were not blowing at full capacity. The repays all showed to be fine. BUT, when at Idle and if the AC or heater is not turned on my temp gauge still rises? could this be a computer problem? or could my thermostat be sticking?
Also if there is anyone out there that can help me with another problem. I recently replaced the passanger side CV axle and just recenetly when I put the car into reverse I get kind of a clunk noise. either then that the car shifts just fine. any insight in what could be the problem and whether or not it might be related to my new cv axle?
