I bought a 95 Grand Prix SE today with as absolutly no probs...at first.
About 2 hrs after buying the car it started to hesitate while acellerating, and then suddenly i lost overdrive. The car ran absolutly amazing on the test drive and when i picked the car up. Any ideas as to whats going on. I checked the coil packs and plugs, cylinder number 2 and 5s coil pack seems to be a beat up also wires are looking a little rough. Would this have any effects on the transmission tho? Any help at all would be great. Thx for takin the time to read.

some programming keeps you out of od.. I'd return the car or start wtih the usual tune up etc and see where you end up. That trans was not known for losing od like the 4t65
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

ok at further research into the car.. Fluid is dirty but does not smell burnt. If ur in D and on the expressway the car will stay around 3K rpm. when u lfft off the gas its almost as if it goes into N drops to 1k rpm. if then u try to accelerate it jumps back to 3k to 3.5k. Now as i was on the expressway the car said i was travling at 70mph but i was blowing buy people like i was going around 80 to 85. im currently waiting on funds for the tune-up but i really feel that shouldnt tweak the trans like that. Now what im wondering is if it could be a speed sensor. any ideas?

BillBoost37, i thank you for your timely response. i would return the car but im in love with it lol. i feel as if this is an easy fix, due to the trans doing everything else as it should. Shifts smooth, non burnt fluid, and no whine.
