What is the deal. Does anyone else have this reoccurring problem? This is the 4th or 5th one I have had break. Between both GP's, I have spent toooo much money on this. Am I using a cheap part, or do these go out often?

mines the original, do you tend to run out of fluid?
Nope. I can't tell you the last time I saw the low fluid light on. When I get a oil change, they fill it up. Is it hard to change? I should know how to change it after watching the mechanic fix it the first three or four timess.
very easy it doesn't even bolt in, it's a pressure fit pull the old one, put new in, and hook up hose and wire
How exactly do you change it? Does the battery need to be removed?`
not that hard, you need to jack up the front passenger side, remove the wheel, remove the fender lining and you should see the reservoir. the pump is the black thing, pop the top out of the guide (pull towards the fender, not towards the wheel) and then pull the pump straight up.
the hardest part for me was getting the hose off the pump.
i dont think it's recurring, the one in my GTP has worked for 11 years, but the one on my GT broke at about 60k miles.
I forget where I read it but if you remove the right headlight you can get to it pretty easily from there, which is how I replaced my OEM one several weeks ago. The grommet the pump slides into was a tremendous PITA but the pump itself was a piece of cake.
Taking the light out also is a great way to get at the coolant level sensor.
