    Hi everyone,

I own a 2003 Grand Prix SE and have started to have various problems with it. Started with replacing a heater regulator switch...then my lights on my clock/radio went out...back power window will work sometimes...washer motor went and was replaced...worked for a week and then went again...now I have no horn and my ABS and NO Trac lights go on ONLY SOMETIMES and show an unknown code when the mechanic checked it. He suggests I take it to the dealer however they want $150 just to hook it up!

Does this sound like an electrical issue?

Well hopefully someone will step in here and offer some additional advice and guidance. However, with as varied as those symptoms are and the systems affected Im wondering if there is an issue with the ignition switch. Purely a guess at this point as GM runs a lot of power to the accessories and such through the switch and when mine went bad I had several things that were not working as they should.

But keep that in the back of your mind for now as you have a lot of systems being affected. If not for the ABS and No Trac condition I would point more heavily to the ignition switch but the ABS and No Trac light would lead me to believe there is a bad wheel bearing. It could possibly be you have more than one issue.

I also just had the struts replaced and they said the bearings were fine.

Well, the bearing itself (the mechanical part) may be in excellent shape, but the electrical sensor part may be shot as the sensor is built into the wheel bearing. I wish there were some fairly easy way to rebuild them in some reliable fashion but there just isnt and you can loose sensor function and still have a bearing thats working fine.

If it is just a sensor, how critical is it to get it fixed.

without it, you have no abs/traction control, that's all
