We purchased our 2000 Grand Prix SE this past weekend. The previous owners had 2 key fobs that they gave us. However, after replacing the batteries and trying all the "tricks" I could find online to program the things, I finally took it to a dealer yesterday.

The dealer hooked it up on the Tech 2 and said that the computer is not recognizing the keyless entry. They ran the vin and everything and the car does have a keyless entry system and even an alarm system, but it is just not recognizing that one is there.

I had them check both remotes. One is a GM ceritified remote and the other they think must be an after-market remote. They both tested good and transmitting on their system. However, they could not get it to program. They said I could make an appointment and come in and they will try to find out the wiring issue. The cost would start at $65 and go up from there.

I was wondering if any of you have had a similar problem or have an answer for me. One more thing to ad...Occasionally when I look at the radio, the numbers are rolling digital segments (not full numbers) and sort of flashing. Usually when I turn the car off, it corrects itself.

    any help?

Have you checked for any blown fuses? It sounds like the receiver in the car is dead.

I had the same exact problem and did the same thing and went to the dealer. They said they think my BCM could be bad or it could be a wiring problem.

Did you ever get it fixed? If so, how much did it cost?

Did you have any another issues going on like the radio going crazy every once in a while?
