My wife's 2006 Grand Prix stays at home since she now works at home. I change the oil by the computer read. It was last changed March 1, 2010 with Mobil 1 Gold 15,000 mile extened service oil. The GP has been driven 800 miles. I can't wait to take it to the dealership (Itake my own oil & filter, the service is $12) and see their face as the computer reads 87% left on the oil and only 900 miles, maybe, by then. I may write Mobil and ask for 15,000 mile/15 year oil the way it's going. LOL

If your doing mostly highway driving I'd change around 5k with synthetic, Oils cheap, changing it when you should makes much more of a difference than what brand you use.

At $12 for an oil change, I think you're doing alright, man.
