I just got the puller in today that I bought from WBodyStore, and I replaced the stock pulley and reduced it to 3.4.

My brother has one of the expensive code readers that scan the engine for everything basically. He said there is 0 degree knock at idle and the max is 4 degree at full boost.

My question is, is this acceptable for the time being? I am working on buying headers in the upcoming few weeks hopefully if paychecks permit!

In what gear was that reading taken for FULL boost??

because first gear will not have as much knock as the top of second gear. Just keep your foot out of it some so nuthing bad happens.

But 4* is not super bad, but its still knock. When you get headers all that knock should go away.

I believe it is in 2nd-3rd gears if I'm not mistaken. I think his code reader takes the average and spits that out at the end of the session.

He said that the max was not over 4 though. So maybe that is incorrect.

Regardless, I will start working toward the headers then, I don't want anything happening to my car!!!

    Thanks.

then having the stock pulley on there would be ideal.

right now you're running 12* of timing and probably running lean.

thats just asking for engine damage.

eBAY - Speed Daddy Headers, $200, baby it a couple days, install the headers asap and you'll be ok

To support properly, need intake, headers, cooler range plugs and a light right foot mod
