Re: any Tech Tip for rocker install?
What could happen if you reuse the rocker bolts, cuz i did on a lim gasket r&r and didnt know they were tty bolts.
Re: any Tech Tip for rocker install?
you dont need to take those off for LIM unless you're doing lifters as well.
It seems you can re-use them, I had to for a little while, but I put comp cams re-usable's in quite soon afterwards.
Re: any Tech Tip for rocker install?
TECHINCALLY...you can use basically any TTY bolt over again...we used every TTY bolt on my buddy's 5.0 slow build...down to the head bolts...just sayin, not the best idea...but you can do it.

That what i thought to but i couldnt get the old gastket out without loosening the rockers. The old gasket had tabs that went around certain pushrods. I didnt think reuseing them would do anything serious but i figured id ask. Thanks didnt mean to hijack

I think you're talking about head gaskets not LIM gaskets. Unless you have a 3.1

Ya 3.1
Re: any Tech Tip for rocker install?
went to the junkyard to get some misc parts for my car and i saw a GTP totaled and untouched so i got to thinking, i should crack open the valve cover and take a look and see if it really is that easy, i popped off the valve cover... you unbolt the rocker and the push rod just sits there. its one bolt, one rod, it looks super easy! Im very confident that i can do it now. All i need to know is the torque specs on the bolts when reassembling
Re: any Tech Tip for rocker install?
Comp cams 5/16" rocker bolts are an alternative to the torque to yield factory rocker arm bolts. They are simply the best bolt available and sold from a company you trust. Torque to 23 ft/lbs.
