    Guys...

I am guilty of not reading the how to mod your car etc recently. Is throw your TB spacer in the garbage before it causes a coolant leak in there?

Do we have a post about which mods suck ass and should be avoided?

This is why I am glad that when I installed methanol injection I used the unused vacumme port in the back side of the tb.

we dont currently have a post specifically for things that we constantly shoot down. its a good idea, but itd need some definite reasoning, not just our opinions and a couple off base examples of what could happen.

i tapped my blower case, which is what shawn i bet was referring to. ill post pictures later if it helps, but i cant do anything while im at work..

I'm all for reasoning. TB spacers w/o the coolant ports blocked lat the lower are a common source of leaks as they block the flow of the coolant.

Let's start listing them up and then those of us that have experience with them, can come up with valid reasoning behind the good/bad of them.

    bad mods (IMO):

    - throttle body spacers
    - anything less than a 180* thermostat (even 180* is pretty pointless, keep your heat and your 195* one)
    - OE-R lifters
    - phenolic spacers (blower spacer)
    - throttle body upgrades (unless beyond ~3.2 pulley or less)
    - cat backs

thats all i got for now, all pretty self explanitory.

Lightweight pushrods (Lighter weight and less strength)
Fan switch harness (better to program temps into pcm, no dead battery and lower cost when getting a pcm)

i actually liked having my caspers fan switch. i could turn it on high in traffic and keep my car cooler than i could driving highway speeds.

hey all, im really considering doing the L26 UIM, but trying to go cheap on the spacer/adapter for the TB. I heard that the L26 doesnt route coolant to the TB, this true? also, will this suffice to get the L36 TB on the L26 mani?

    ZZ Performance

or should i just get the dorman modified UIM with LIM gaskets from ZZP as well and call it a day?
