Going to have my u-bend removed this weeked and was wanting to know if I should also have my resonator removed also. This will be the only mod I do on my exhaust for at least till winter, money's tight now. Your guy's thoughts would be helpfull.

All removing the res will do is change the sound, and I'm not sure how it will sound with the stock mufflers. It doesn't hamper flow.
This is what I found on a post on the forums.
either gut, or leave the cat alone, both are fine, for sure leave the resonator alone, and change the mufflers, since this is the part that muffles the sound, by changing the mufflers only, your changing the exhaust tone.
This guy wanted to delete his cat. It was also said that if all your looking to do is cahange the sound, is to change the mufflers along with the u-bend. Hope this helps with some ideas to get you going in the right direction.

With stock mufflers removing the resonator wouldn't change the sound much and provides no real performance benefit. If/when you go to aftermarket mufflers later, you will likely want the resonator because it helps with hiway drone and to some degree with the farty V6 sound.
My vote is keep the resonator.
My current exhaust system is TOG headers>>Hogan catted DP>>GMPP catback piping>>MBRP resonator>>Borla XS Pro mufflers>>Magnaflow 15* 18" rolled edge tips. I fought the drone for a long time after removing my stock catback, finally the sound is acceptable to me again.
the best that i can tell, removing the resonator is one of the main causes of the dreaded "rasp" sound that most of us try to avoid. All of the folks that i have talked to who removed the resonator said they immediately noticed a raspy sound in the exhaust, but when they welded the resonator back up to the exhaust(while keeping the same setup as before the res delete) the rasp went away and there was more of a throaty growl to the exhaust. just my .02 sense...
Thanks guys that what I wanted to know. Will I see any gains from my u-bend delete?
yup. I believe ZZP states that you will see gains of 5-10 wHP depending on other supporting mods. might wanna check their website just to be sure. zzperformance.com
