Not true. It has to get its power from somewhere. It does take its power from the motor in the form of increased back pressure. The engine will now find it harder to exhaust the cylinders since the turbo is in the way.
In general though, the parasitic losses caused by the increased back pressure is usually less than the parasitic losses from a belt driven power adder.

Thanks. All of you have been teaching me so much since I've joined. I'm used to building small block Chevys where the sky is the limit. These motors seem to be a whole new world.

As far as horsepower goes....You can get the same results from a turbo setup as you can a s/c setup....to a certain point.....after that point it would be more effeicent to run a turbo.
Anybody else got anything on the nitrous??

the .5 sec drop would be from a 75 shot. you would like the kick of a 100-125 shot....but need to get used to the 75..and tune for it if need be.
you can use stock timing tables just fine... 75 wont hurt anything. ..a Honda civic could hold a 75 all day long. for a 75 shot...I would recomend using the current plug you have...no need to go colder. seeing you have a 3.2 pulley on....assuming you already have a colder than stock plug.

Can you give me some basics on tuning for nos... on my o2's im running 910-920... should i have to chang anything for the nitrous?... do i just pretty much get a knock free tune then add the nos? right now i have about a degree of kr at times....i imagine the nos would actually help with that. just give me a good idea on what a decent starting point would be.

for a 75...you dont have to do anything. your right it will help out. it will cool the incoming air, as well as the blower. it will reduce knock.
I'm not sure what pointer I could give... jus wen you decide to step up the shot...start to retard timing.....
and dont go more than half of what your motor makes. say stock is 240....dont go more than 120hp shot. I think you are making just a tad bit more power than stock..lol

Heh yeah just a tad lol...Now i know the difference between a wet shot and a dry shot...but tell me what i should run on my gp...wet or dry? the zex kit at zzp had both options.

Ok well so far it's gunna be the zex wet kit from zzp....
New question....Before the throttle body or after? if it's before the tb then im assuming that i can just run the jet into my jmb fwi....if it's after im assuming i will have to buy a tb spacer...
I am assuming that the nos jet would go after the tb but im not sure what the best way is so thats why im asking.

I don't know if it applies to us, most kits I've seen hooked up have been before the TB into the intake tube. Like I said, might be different for the GP or the type of kit you use.

Don't know how you feel about the ZEX kit but this is what I found on 3800performance:

Yep, that sounds like a winner. Let me know when you get it all set up. I want to try and make it down your way sometime. I'm dying to see her run down the track. Your basically going in the same directiion I want to. Do you have the newer HPTuner? Trying to figure out what can be adjusted on theGTP's. And do you have the standard or the proffesional. I checked their site out and want to get one, I just want to make sure I get the right one. I know I need to get some tuning done. Probly got a bunch of KR I need to get rid of. Let me know man.

Sure will man. As far as what hp tuners I have....All of them are the same. Did you mean newer version? If so i can easily download the newer version on the hpt site. Theres quite a bit to change in the gtp's suprised me a lot. I have the standard tuner that comes with 8 credits...not the one with the EIO inputs. but i may be upgrading soon to the one with the inputs so i can hook up my wideband that i am going to be getting soon....

Which one would you recomend, the standard or the proffesional? I was thinking more on the pro because I'd like to do some adjustments on Both GP's and my Ram. I have the GTP and the wifes is a GP. Just want to try and get a little better MPG outa hers if possible and of course my two for proformance tuning with the mods done. And of course MPG. I about fliped when I seen the MPG your getting. Hope to be able to get it around the August time frame. Once I get it, if I have any problems firuring stuff out, Can we meet up so you can school me on it some? I appreciate all the help you've given me.

I have friends that hide it in the FWI...... I would use the spacer for the TB. it is really a nice piece! I have one on my work bench.

So how bout that one on your work bench?? want to sell it?
The spacer for the tb that you speak of...is that the one made for nitrous....or just a normal t/b spacer that was drilled?
