I need to replace the fuel line that goes from the engine to the fuel filter. Anyone have any tips suggestions? Looks pretty straight forward but only question is how to disconnect it on the engine side. It looks like just a rubber tube slips over the metal line but not sure?

EDIT---Looks like the line is one piece that goes right up to the fuel rail. Does that sound correct?

Yup one piece, you need a fuel line disconnect tool to take it off.

Yeah it sounds correct. You disconnect it at the fuel rail with a fuel rail disconnect tool.
Sears and most auto part stores have these:

I will have to go pick up the tool. This fuel filter change is costing me! $108 for the line and whatever for the tool. And that is without the cost of the filter UGH!

I have 110,000 on my car right now and it is my daily driver. I got the fuel line from a dealer even though I didn't want to. I could have gotten it cheaper off the internet but I need to get it installed before Sat because I am doing a top swap. I tried all the tips in that thread but I ended up beating the crap out of the filter and bending the fuel line. lol

Yes sir that's the tool. I believe its 3/8" (well at least on the ls motors) you'll need to use.
