I got a 05' GP, been having knocking/rattling noises from the front for the last few months. It isn't the tie rods, sway bars, sway bar links, ball joints, loose wires or engine cover, I looked this thing up and down and it doesn't seem to be any one of these issues. Anyone know what else it could possibly be? Kind of tired of hearing this noise over and over again. Who has an idea as to what this might be?

only happens when there are bumps, it's not really noticeable when driving at higher rates of speed, only at lower rates of speed. If i am driving over some smaller bumps or divets in the road that is when I can hear the noise. I've had it since I owned the car, and it's driving me nuts to be honest

This sounds like the intermediate shaft to me, it is a very common problem.

Use google, type in intermediate shaft.

Will almost guarantee it's your sway bar end links. I'm on my third set. If they are under load you will not be able to tell. Just slide under the car with the suspension loaded and bang on the bottom under the end links. They will probably rattle. Moog makes a beefier one but the sockets still don't hold up long term. Plus side...they come off easy when you need to change them.

Mine rattles real bad over bumps or a rough road front driver side too. I have a 97 gtp any ideas it really makes my car sound like a clunker.

The intermediate shaft noise on mine (2004 GT2) was different. It rattled when you turned, even on smooth surfaces and low speeds. The sound was consistent in each direction.
The end links sound more like someone wrapping on your front suspension with a small hammer, worse at lower speeds and smaller road imperfections. I am seriously considering changing my lower control arms to the older style and putting on the older beefier sway bar and links. Seems like it's a direct bolt on according to some other forum posts. If so, problem solved and better handling.
On my 97 Regal the banging was the end of the sway bar had broken off. Some replacements are solid unlike the original.

I had a rattle on my '98 that turned out to be a missing screw that went into the front bumper cover. found it by accident when I snacked the bumper cover while washing the car. might be worth knocking the plastic around on your front end?
