    Hey, This is Steve-o Again.

I have the 1997 Grand Prix GTP. I've had it forever.. so ill get down to the question that i need help with.

So originally everything was okay until i had someone install my system into my car, which apparently they messed it all up but to say this FIRST.
I KNOW ITS NOT BECAUSE OF MY SYSTEM.

    So to start with.

    1. My pods dont seem to work, but i think its a wire, i dont know what color the wires are or anything.
    2. My speeddomitor does not light up anymore either ( i think its a wire but im not sure what that looks like either)

so the question remains if its the wires which i know it is for a fact, im wondering how they are suppose to be wired up, what they look like as well.

    AND

    to add to this post.

I'm looking for a full wire diagram on how the wires are suppose to be like, orange to green or w/e. i need to know where my pod wire is suppose to be hooked too, as well as my speedometer lights.

    and

if anyone has a dash for sale (platic housing around the speedometer let me know!) and how also does the carpet under where the brake and gas pedals are how it attachs... because it seems it keeps falling down i think im missing a plastic cap to hold it up, but im now sure.

being an ass doesn't help your cause.

you need to be a bit more detailed and maybe take some pictures.

Pictures of a wiremess wont help for 1.
and for 2 i wasnt being an ass about it, im suprised not 1 person had anything to say being for the fact this entire website deals with cars like mine thanks...

and also. more detailed? its simple.
    1. my pods dont work at all, no power, dont glow or anything like they should, being a wire i dont know what the wire should hook 2.
and also, my speedometer doesnt work and if i knew what wire that went to as well, the problems would be fixed.

and i said that in my first post
    thanks.

really what you are asking us to do is impossible. we cant diagnose wiring problems on something that you yourself didn't even install. I love to help you I really would. the best advice that I could give you is to start testing wires and checking bulbs. you have to start simple and then move to more complicated. if you figure something out that isn't quite right take lots of pics post em and ask the questions that you have and someone is bound to know the answer. but really if you just say this isn't lighting and I have no idea your going to get answers like check your blinker fluid. just saying

Well i do appreciate the honest answer from you Kjohnson. Ill take a look at them, i guess the problem lies within that i don't know where the wires from the Pod (which i assume are stock because i seen them in multiple grand prix GTP's) are to be wired to, or what to be wired to. I assume that it should be wired maybe to the ignition wiring???

I'll take pictures but i guess all i really want to know is, where does the pod's wires suppose to be connected? like to the ignition wiring? or a hot wire? or what. if you can answer that one anyhow.....

clearly a (POD) is refurring to the left side where your Voltage gauge and air fuel ratio are located.

well clearly I didnt know if you were talking about the "pod" or the DIC since you said youve seen them in multiple gtp's. could have been anything. I wount hook that into the ignition circuit that would be dumb but then again I didnt install it. is there any voltage coming from it and is the ground good. taht would be a good place to check for your pod. the spedo you need to take out and see fi you have any burn out bulbs and replace as necessary. let me know what you find out

sorry for being a bit of a smart ass.... just was curious to find out where the pod (voltage meter/air fuel ratio) was originally connected, because i have no clue. But ill check the ground wire first, if not that then im not sure where it connects to (the positive i mean)

Oh, and no there is no voltage what so ever to it. it would seem maybe the wire is disconnected, just not exactly sure where to connect it to, or if its just suppose to be connected into a positive wire lets say from my stero or something

ok that is definatly your problem then. there are many different ways that you could connect it. I would start by finding the other end of the wire. if that means you have to take some stuff apart..........well thats part of the gig. but you can either fix the origional connection that they made which can be easy or you could tap into pretty much any switched (turns on and off with the car) wire. let me know what you find out. even tho your a butthead I dont mind helping

Did you check your fuses for those items?
It could be possible that they shorted something while installing your stereo and popped a fuse for the circuit those two items run on. If you replace the fuse and it pops again then start checking wiring.

i have a feeling that it probably is a fuze, because i tried hooking it into multiple wires, and came up with no luck, not even a spike in voltage jump on the meter.

A fuse for something to do with interior lighting.
If you cant find that just pull and check each fuse.

Yeah ill have to check and pull each fuse. I'm starting to think that i might just end up buying a parts car, removing my entire dash and rip it all out and put all the electric from the parts car into my car... (dredful thought) but its bought the best solution i can think of, because i dont see where to connect the wire, i know i connect it to when the car shuts off, this would solve my (pod) solution but where do i connect it to??? any suggestions?? and as far as my speedometer goes, all the bulbs are fine, none are burnt, it seems to be the connection to whereever its suppose to be connected (which i dont know where the cable from the speedometer which has that glow around the numbers etc... is suppose to be connected either

    please help

    thanks.
