Tonight i was driving without the radio and i got on it a little bit, 1/2 to 3/4 and i noticed there was a ticking sound that went with the rpm.I havent really noticed it to much before. When i rev in park, it doesnt really do it. Do you think im hearing valve tick or something else with the motor.

could be a VERY noisy injector. Its hard to say.

Try running seafoam in the car to clear up the built up and clean the injectors. it might help.

I have this same thing going on on thats what i think ita a lifter of something. I ran seafoam and its still making the noise. And this is whats stopping me from dropping pulleys

Or lifter tick. Something very common with these cars. Try Lucas Oil Stabilizer.

Eh the tick goes with rpm but only under a load and over 2500rpm. In neutral it wont tick, or barely at all. What would that oil stabilizer do? I just literally changed my oil 2 days ago, mobile 1 10w30.

Because if you put the oil stabilizer in and it quiets down then it is a valvetrain related noise.

another problem these engines have is connection rods breaking. but the noise is more of a clak clak clak and you dont notice it under 2000 rpms then gets loud. had this problem in my old bonneville and and connection rod eventually came out the side of the block!

itll be hard to hear because of my loud ass slp exhaust. but if it goes with rpm, it might be it? I mean anything ticking coming from the motor isn't good right? And im buying oil stabilizer tomorrow even though its 5 days fresh.

i assume it means keep your foot off the pedal..lighten the load... i have similar ticking.. i believe it's an exhaust leak from the egr, so I'm going to delete it.. if that doesn't work, then I guess I'll start saving for a new motor or a rebuild
