Ok so friday I made an open cone intake and everything was good until today when at a stop sign my rpms go down to zero and the engine shuts off. Also my car is bogging badly when I floor it and it will barly screech the tires. Has this ever happened to anyone who installed an open cone intake and if not does anyone have an idea what might be causing it.

crank position sensor, that can cause the rpm to drop to zero and then the car can stall.

intake should not be the problem, another Question did you remove that honeycome thing in the intake that sit in the thottle body?

if you did put it back in.

this will work on all 97-03 grand prix: 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix Crank Sensor 3.8L Supercharged: eBay Motors (item 310240664943 end time Sep-10-10 07:07:55 PDT)

for the maf, unplug it first to see if the car acts different, if it does then its bad.

ZZP sells the TB screen, or maybe post up a wanted ad to see if anybosy has one.

yeah you will notice it, have the car running and unplug the sensor, the rpms should jump a little and if you drive it will act funny.

but if the rpms dont do anything or it dont change them the maf is bad,

and the TB screen can cause jumpy idle aswell

if you unplug the MAF and the car runs better then its a MAF problem. its possible that you pulling the screen out is screwing up the car as well.

I thought the screen removel would onlh make the rpms jump not cause the car to die and bog down. Once work is over I am gonna try to unplugg the maf
