On my way home from work my GP stalled out while moving. Sat for 20 minutes or so in the road as it locked up and the steering wouldn't turn to be moved to the side. Then it fired up and ran fine. I tried starting it a few times during the 20 min span, but did not come close to running it. I think it may have something to do with the heavy rain that I drove through getting something wet. Deepest puddle was only an inch deep though. Any ideas on what could cause this and how to prevent it from happening again?

Yes, good area to start. I have hit some deep puddles myself, and after I let her sit for a few, started just fine, and once they are dry, runs like it never happened.

pop your hood at night and with no lights on rev your motor...if u see little flashes of light goto a parts store and buy some dialectric for the wires...comes in little packets...put that in your plug boots on both ends and see if that solves it.

Do you mean with no hood light, as i cant shut off the headlights at night.

So it seems that the wiring around the plugs is what is the consensus for the source of the problem. Makes sense because I bet the previous owner did not replace any of that wiring and she stored in a barn during the winter. At one point mice were living in it.

I'd pop off the wheel and splash shield on the passenger side. Take a good look at that crank sensor connector. That's the lowest sensor that can cause a stall like you describe. Plug wires/ICM are a bit high on the motor and usually don't get very wet in the rain or a splash from a puddle. Although they can be at fault. Just sayin...it's more likely a crank sensor.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
