Noobie here. Alright so I've been looking for a Stage 2 chip set for my 97 GTP...and I cant find one supercharger friendly. So I was looking at a PCM (which is the better choice). Should I get an overkill or ZZP PCM 1.0? I was looking at both and they look like do the same exact thing.

    You were looking for what?

Anyway, all of them pretty much do the same thing as a canned tune. Intense,ZZP,Overkill, and DHP. IF you go any further in modding I would suggest a custom tune.

uummm, have had mine in for ~6 years with no problems at all.

The amount of ZZP haters here amazes me..... simply mind-boggling!!!!

But yeagh they all pretty much do the same thing.... but each car is different, so those cookie-cutter tunes are ok, but a tuned PCM is way better. Which is my next step... i hope.

haha! well we'll see how it goes when i get it [hopefully in the next week!].

it would be a lot easier to get the PCM if u didnt have to upchuck 200 at once for the core.

I always keep a spare PCM laying around.. You might be able to pick up a PCM for 30 bucks and not have to spend the 100 bucks up front?

Well I mean I could just take mine off and send it to 3800 for tuning...but I don't want my car down that long.
I wonder if a junk yard might have one I could get for cheap and that way I'd have my stock one in case of emergency. If I pull a PCM off a newer or older or a GTP [i have 99 GT] can it still work with mine?

No it wont... You will need the 99GT bin file on there for it to work. Anyone with a HPTuner can do that for you.. All you would have to do is pay for credits for him to do that.

I was going to have 3800 Performance do it since [from what i've heard] is more of a "safer" canned tune. They can do 99GT bin file I'm sure?

What I was answering is if you take a GTP pcm and put it in your car.. Now if you just want to send a GTP PCM to them, thats fine and keep your stock one.
