Thread: 97 GTP how many teeth on the starter?

I have a 1997 GTP and I need a new starter. How many teeth are on the GTP starter, VS the GT or SE starter? I just want to make sure I get the right one.

Any of the starters should mate up as the flywheels are externally the same with different balancing and bolt holes for the TC sizing.

Time for you to do some research. Go to Rockauto.com and lookup a starter for your car. Now click on the part number of the starter to get the interchange list.

I went after an 00 Bonneville SSEI and the interchange showed me all GP models, All Bonne models, all Impala etc etc you get the idea. Go double check it by punching in you exact car and you'll be able to prove it out.

the starters are all the same. I took one off my Bonne SSE and put it on my GTP
