Oh yeah, it's a pain in the a$$. Follow the wire located at the back of the blower.fan motor. It's on the main back where the floor board and firewall meet. It's really tight. I think it's a 7mm or 8mm socket. Just take your time and a deep breath, count to 10 every time you get pissed off. There are 2 screws that hold it in. Good luck.
    Lambokit to be built!!!!!

Holy crap!!! You ain't kidding on the tight fit. There are 2 screws on the back side up next to the firewall and one of the cab facing side. Me and the wife have been working on it and had to take a break... I can't get my fat fingers up in there.
You need to cut some of the sound deaden-er away to get to the screws. What a poor design.

I also have a '02 GT and replaced my blower resistor last year. It's a real PITA, but can be done. Here's a link with pictures on how to do it.

Ontario Quebec Club Grand Prix :: Fan resistor replacement

The hardest part was twisting my body around enough to get my fat fingers back there. I ended up with a twisted knee that hurt me for over 2 months.

I've done two of these and I agree, they are a PITA! I found it easiest to use a 1/4" drive ratchet and press it hard into the floor padding to get it to line up straight on the small bolt. I even considered pulling the front seat out just so I didn't have to lay upside down with my back over the door sill.

The tool I used to get at the back screws is a flexible shaft 1/4" drive screwdriver. You know, the kind that looks like a screwdriver with a 1/4" drive on the end, but the shaft is a flexible one that can bend. Very handy for those tight spots.

^ get one of those. Loosen the two screws you can see then just pull it out. You do not need to loosen all three. Then before you put the new one in you just loosen the third one up so it can slide under it.
