I'm in the market for a 98-03 gtp and I was wondering if there are any really big differences in reliability and features between the years. I've heard the 97's may have some transmission issues and also have different pcms than the 98-02, and the 03's have different pcms as well. Is there any reason to stay away from the pre 00 cars or 03 cars?

anything between 98 and 02 will be pretty much exactly the same, so i'd stick with that range.

X2, the 97 are either freaks of nature when it comes to modding or they just blow up right in your face.

I would get an 03. They have stronger transmissions.

I have a 99 and my brother has an 03. Both are pretty identical. I would say you can't go wrong with anything between 98-03. 97's had there own issues.
