Which would be better for a 3.4 setup?
If your planning on going any further I'd say headers, but on the other hand for what headers cost now a days just get the headers anyway.
just go with some speed daddy headers they are 220 for a set only things u will need is some copper rtv and some better clamps DO NOT GET OBX HEADERS!
id go with headers due to cost and the fact they let you mod further if wanted
Thanks for the input guys. Would this be a good setup headers, cai, tuned pcm, 3.4 pulley, 180t-stat and 104s
Also this may sound dumb, but can you use a 3"dp with ssac headers
you don't need to get a downpipe with headers. the same part of the exhaust gets replaced
^^what this guy said..headers come with dp's. I would say if the furthest you're going to mod the car is a 3.4 then get a plog/downpipe for low end torque and you can always find them dirt cheap in classifieds, but any smaller of a pulley you'll want headers for sure.
Get speed daddy headers. Headers are always the better option unless you plan on going turbo.
Unless you wanna cam and go I/C'd
They dont.
But they still let you run a smaller pulley and go faster.
But headers are the best idea, just not necessary. Think Cali.
with speed daddys, can i keep my stock cat? or would i have to cut and weld it into the dp?
Your call chief on that one. I'd get a 3" Cat and slip it in there if I were worried about emissions...if not they come with a 3" test pipe
