If you do a lot of sitting and ideling, that will make the avg. go down alot too.
Try going out on the highway, and while at crusing speed, say 55 mph, reset the DIC and see what it says, should be between 28-32mpg. If you get somthing really bad like 25 at that speed, I would say somthing is wrong.
    Any trouble codes?

Well, if you’re getting 15 mpg and all you do is short trips around town, that isn’t horrible. Although most people tend to do 40-60% highway driving, and on the highway you should expect to get about 30 mpg at 60 mph. I track my gas mileage like a hawk and the more time your speed is between 40 and 60mph, and the less time you idle, your gas mileage goes way up. I typically do 60% highway driving, and I vary between 23-28 mpg averages per fill up, but I keep my car in perfect running order.

Considering the age of your car I would say it is time for a new front O2 sensor. The front O2 sensor is the most important item to get the most mpg out of your car. The second is probably is a fresh set of spark plugs, and then the MAF sensor. Keeping those three items maintained are huge factors, but to be honest there are a couple dozen of items that “could” give you bad mpg. But, one could write a book in this area.

Ten years of continuous driving excitement and counting!

im guessing its time for a tune up including an o2 sensor and fuel filter
if your air filters dirty it can be a factor in bad gas mileage
id say thats not good or average gas mileage condsidering im modded and get better mileage in my gtp

Well, my car is creeping up on a good tune up, but on my last road trip I averaged like 34mpg from NC to FL...But when I popped my Overkill PCM in, I havent seen anything above 27mpg.....

My average city driving went from around 30 to 25...which sucks....

But hopefully with new plugs/fuel filter/oil filter/cleaned out air filter, I should get my MPG 's back up.
