this what i did a couple months ago... all i did was cut the factory pipe just before the iat and clamped the filter on... 15 minutes and youre done...

meh, get some pvc pipe, paint it, and stick that filter in or near the fenderwell. your intake temps are gonna be hot with an intake like that. my intakes have always been at or 10*+ ambient temps at most
Fenderwells are for girls and people who like water in the engine.
Mod it and then go open cone.
A mist of water in the intake every now and than is not always a bad thing... I.E. Jeep water droplet injection kit to keep the combustion chamber steam cleaned and running good.
lol if you're not gonna suck up water with an intake at the top of your fenderwell. I had one with no problems. Water cannot pass through that filter unless you completely submerge the thing in water. Water droplets cannot pass through the material and the oil coating it
Fender well intakes and true cold air intakes keep the temperatures down compared to an open cone. I believe w-body store or zzp, someone tested the different in intake air temps and open cones run about 70 degrees hotter than something that's sealed off away from the heat. Add that to your supercharger heat and you're creating knock, maybe to the point where it's not helping at all as far as performance but just to your ear!![]()
Meh i'm glad i went Open Cone. My Filter stay's cleaner without nasty **** all over it. And besides the only time i need that colder ambient temp is when i race and i haven't went once yet this year. I'll take my Fuel Mileage.
sooo many short ram vs open cone vs fenderwell threads! i thought we all agreed? buy a price of 4'' diameter pipeing and put a filter on then upon heavy modding go open cone, DUH
SRI/OC+LQ4=instant refresh rates. FTW. end thread.
Been buying/making/fabricating intakes for probably longer than you've driven a car son. I guarantee if you put an aeroforce on a factory intake setup it has less knock than an open cone. I'll supply video evidence if you need it! You're inlet temps for an open cone roughly 144 degrees. Close it off and cut it in half! 144 degree intake air temps, nah I'll pass on that. Not to mention if an open cone filter setup was so great makes you wonder why they didn't put it on for a factory setup, let me help you it creates more knock which in turn takes away reliablity of your vehicle.
Of course this is coming from the same guy that gives me **** everytime I post here and we already know you have attitude/personality problems. Why I don't post here often so I don't have to hear your stupid mouth.
