Just had magna flo muffler put on with a tip. not much different in sound. The guy at the shop said to put a straight pipe where it is and it would give it better sound? or should i replace it with something else? maybe a glass pack

Don't take it off if you already have aftermarket mufflers. Do you have a converter still?

GM V6's sound like a flushing toilet....no need to uncork them.

I wouldn't say flushing a toilet..more like popping bubble wrap into a megaphone with a pissed off bumble bee stuck in there.

Get rid of the converter...and if you have emissions...you can buy a piece that looks like a converter but is in fact a straight pipe though it...but no one can tell. You can buy that for like $30 at Frozen Boost. Another option is like said above...replace the stock resonator with a long glasspack.

There is a THANKS button in every post that you don't do in the bottom right hand corner.

I have a 97' and just have a Catco high flow converter no res and just a Magna Flow Muffler out back single style exhaust. It's got a tough sound but I have to be honest.. The drone has gotten on my last nerve....

^^Just get a glasspack...I have a buddy with a 3800 in an SE and it is a 3" catless DP with a 3" single system all the way back to a Flowmaster Super 44 with what I think is a 24" Glasspack and it has a GT2 cam and ported manifolds...it sounds pretty wicked.
