    Hey,

For the entire five years I've had my '00 GTP, it has always loved to warp rotors regardless of the pads I use. I've used organics, semi-metalics, and ceramics and ceramics gave me the best braking, but all warped the rotors sooner or later. As a hail mary, I bought some drilled/slotted rotors from a guy on eBay (I know, I know, shut up ). They've lasted a really long time, but the pads are complete garbage and the braking performance decreased by probably a good 40%. Well now these are warped too so I want to get some ceramic pads again, but want to know if you all are aware of any high-quality rotors (preferrably available locally)/brands that you've had positive experiences with.

    Thanks for the help...

EBC pads rock, but they are not ceramic and brake dust will be your enemy. mine also squealed under light braking, but not under medium or hard braking. i ran EBC green's because i think EBC reds are too much for the street.

how are you warping rotors so badly? rotors rarely actually "warp" you must be doing a ton of heavy braking

I must be, because I don't know what else is going on. I make sure to torque my lugs well (100 lbs). Every since I put on these drilled/slotted rotors and garbage pads, I've had to really push on the brake to get the normal braking I used to have. Once I swap these out I'm going to stay very conscious of how I'm using the brake because I'm tired of dealing with it.

more often than rotors, it's your pad that's the problem. sometimes you get a high spot in the rotor from brake dust hardening on. that was the case for me, i got the stockers measure and they said they were good, but it still shook like crazy when i brake. Had them turn them anyway, problem solved. make sure you run a really good brake pad.

Hmm. So maybe I should just swap out the pads first and see how they do before I trash these rotors? I'd get these rotors turned, but Checker says they won't because they're drilled and slotted. I used to work there and I don't know what the big deal is. The lathe wouldn't care I wouldn't think.

right, you can't turn drilled or slotted rotors. hence why so few people on here actually run them. on a street car, they're just for looks. Definitely get some better pads, and a word of advice that i follow is to not buy the cheapest lifetime warranty ones. They give them a lifetime warranty because they make the pad so hard that it 100% will not break. That's when you start tearing up your rotor.

Yeah, you're probably right. When I first got this car I was AMAZED at the braking it had. Now it's like trying to stop a train.

So as far as ceramic pads go, do you agree they're the way to go or no? I LOVE how they leave minimal dust -my wheels look like crap because of the pads I have now.
