After the car had been sitting, I took off the radiator cap. The coolant level looked pretty full, but I could see a little room at the top near the neck. So, I started the car with it off. It sucked the level down a lot further and then I put the cap back on. I have to buy some more coolant, but I guess the fact that the level went down so much means there was air stuck? Did I pressurize the system or something? I will try filling it back up and then letting it run and warm itself up with the cap off and then I'll turn on the heat and see if the level goes down any further. Can anyone show me a picture of exactly where the bleeder valve is? And at what time do I loosen it? After I've filled it back up and put the radiator cap back on?
I noticed just from running it with the cap off for a couple of minutes, the sound was significantly reduced. I hope that once I put more coolant in and bleed more air out, it'll be gone completely.
Thanks!
